About the Role

We are seeking a skilled HVAC Service Technician / Service Manager to install, assemble, and maintain heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. This role involves troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing, installing, servicing, and maintaining HVAC equipment and systems in commercial buildings, hospitals, supermarkets, industrial, and manufacturing plants. There is potential to learn HVAC Building Automation Systems. As a union contractor, we will facilitate your process to become a union Pipefitter, Plumber, or Sheet Metal Worker prior to starting. You may be required to be on call for after-hours and weekend service calls.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair HVAC systems.
  • Communicate with customers and their representatives, including building owners, contractors, and field support staff.
  • Install, assemble, and repair HVAC piping systems, including chilled water, steam, and gas lines.
  • Solder and braze piping connections as needed.
  • Ensure all work complies with local building codes, safety standards, and internal contracting processes.
  • Collaborate with HVAC technicians, engineers, and other tradespeople on project sites.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
  • Pass a background check and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and best practices in HVAC installation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; trade school or apprenticeship preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in HVAC pipefitting.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems, ductwork, and piping.
  • EPA 608 Certification.
  • Advanced written, verbal, customer service, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work well with others in stressful situations and adapt to change.
  • Knowledge of the industry is recommended but not required.

Working Conditions

  • Climbing, bending, stooping, crawling, kneeling, and lifting.
  • Working in extreme temperature ranges, high or enclosed spaces, and outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy materials and work in diverse environments.

Pay

$65,000 to $125,000 per year, dependent on experience.
