HVAC Service Technician

About the role

Riley Plumbing Heating & Air is expanding its service team and seeks an experienced HVAC Service Technician to diagnose equipment, complete quality repairs, and provide professional service to homeowners throughout Carson Valley.

Responsibilities

• Handle residential HVAC service calls throughout the Carson Valley area
• Use technical knowledge to accurately diagnose issues and determine the right solution
• Diagnose heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and system-performance issues
• Complete repairs and component replacements
• Perform preventative maintenance and seasonal tune-ups
• Test equipment and verify proper system operation
• Identify opportunities to improve system performance
• Explain findings and repair recommendations clearly to homeowners
• Maintain accurate service records and job documentation
• Provide professional customer service on every call

Requirements

• 3+ years of HVAC service experience
• EPA Universal Refrigerant Handling Certification
• Valid driver's license and clean, insurable driving record
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Proven ability to complete HVAC repairs
• Professional communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and manage service calls effectively
• Must pass a background check and drug screening upon conditional offer

Preferred Qualifications

• NATE Certification
• Experience mentoring or training newer technicians
• Broad residential HVAC system knowledge

Pay

$35-$48/hour based on experience, plus additional spiff opportunities.

Schedule

Full-time, year-round work.
