About the role
Primarily responsible for performing repairs and maintenance to a variety of equipment including refrigeration, air conditioning, electric motors, heating units, heat pumps, compressors, light commercial furnaces, burners, intake and exhaust fans, economizers, and humidifiers. As a flex role, this position may also perform HVAC installs during times of high customer demand.
Responsibilities
- Check-in with the office for scheduled jobs after the completion of each job and at the end of each workday
- During and/or at the end of each task, fully complete all company-required documentation
- Responsible for time management of jobs scheduled each day
- Check in with clients at the beginning and end of each task to ensure they are aware of everything throughout the visit
- Ensure all materials used for each task are listed properly on company-provided forms
- Check-in as needed to ensure the office dispatcher and/or field supervisor are aware of your status
- Communicate with customers clearly and confidently throughout the service
- Share thoughts/experiences with coworkers in meetings and one-on-one interactions to teach and learn
- Try new ideas and recommend process improvements to improve efficiency/effectiveness
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace in customers' properties and your company vehicle
Requirements
- Minimum of 3+ years of residential HVAC Service experience
- Light Commercial Experience highly preferred
- EPA certification required
- Good background/driving record
- General knowledge of safe working practices and federal/state OSHA requirements
Physical Demands / Working Conditions
- Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, kneel, squat, stoop, use hands to finger, handle controls, hear, and talk
- Frequently required to reach with hands and arms
- Must be able to climb ladders, work in hot and cold environments, and work in small crawl spaces
- Must regularly lift and/or move 50 lbs and up
- Specific vision abilities include close vision and the ability to adjust focus
- Work environment varies by season and scope; required to work outdoors throughout the seasons
- Subject to continual interruptions and changing priorities
- Effective, consistent, and constant communication with customers, vendors, co-workers, and others is required
