About the role

The HVAC Service Technician provides exceptional customer service and educates customers regarding technical and investment decisions by offering multiple options and solutions during service calls in customers' homes.

Responsibilities

  • Serve One Hour clients by expertly servicing and repairing HVAC systems and components.
  • Focus on technical excellence to uphold the company’s unique proposition of Always on Time…Or You Don’t Pay a Dime!®.
  • Utilize the Straight Forward Pricing Guide® system, including the True Cost Calculator on each call.
  • Assess systems to determine repair or replacement recommendations and explain each service and repair to ensure 100% customer satisfaction.
  • Test each system after service or repair to confirm proper functionality and first-time fixes.
  • Perform thorough inspections to prevent future breakdowns.
  • Accurately complete all paperwork and document recommendations on invoices.
  • Explain Club Membership Agreements to every customer, aiming for at least a 25% conversion rate on non-Club Members and a 90% renewal rate on existing Club Members.
  • Provide customer leads to the Sales Lead Coordinator for potential system additions or replacements.
  • Adhere to the One Hour Code of Ethics, Team Rules, and Team Philosophy.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Two or more years of verifiable HVAC service experience.
  • EPA Type 1 and 2 certification required; NATE certification preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and technical competence.
  • Agreement to sign the Company Code of Ethics and participate in videotaped training and compliance sessions at least six times per year.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.

Physical Requirements

  • Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
  • Ability to work outdoors, in extreme temperatures, wet/humid environments, and/or with vibration.
  • Exposure to mechanical and chemical hazards, including fumes, odors, dusts, gases, and poor ventilation.
  • Ability to climb, talk, crouch, stand, balance, reach, grasp, pull, lift, see, hear, and operate tools and vehicles.
