Responsibilities
- Assist with on-site preventative maintenance, routine repair, and calibration of HVAC systems for commercial customers
- Use technical abilities to maintain systems
- Work in a team-based environment to share information and workload while ensuring customer satisfaction
- Work safely daily and ensure all safety measures are followed
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as required
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- HVAC Trade school graduate strongly preferred (3.5 GPA and excellent attendance)
- 1+ years in a mechanical support role; hands-on HVAC experience preferred
- EPA Certification (Type I & Type II or Universal) preferred
- NATE certification a plus
- Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
- Ability to climb ladders and perform moderate lifting (up to 90 pounds)
- Technical aptitude for maintenance, service, and troubleshooting equipment
- Excellent customer service skills
- Good electrical and mechanical diagnostic skills
- Ability to complete repairs and required paperwork
- Ability to work independently and self-schedule
- Self-motivated to complete tasks within time constraints
- Driven to succeed with minimal supervision
- Availability for occasional weekend and night work
- Willingness to relocate to another part of the country after training completion
- Local travel may be required
Physical Requirements
- Install, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on commercial rooftop HVAC units, often independently
- Access rooftops via fixed/extension ladders with tools/equipment
- Work at heights
- Load and unload tools/equipment from work van
- Lift up to 75 lbs occasionally
- Lift to shoulder and overhead up to 25 lbs occasionally
- Push/pull wheeled cart up to 150 lbs
- Climb ladders up to roof height
- Extend reach overhead in repetitive motion
- Manual tandem lifting up to 125 lbs
Pay
This is an hourly non-exempt role with a salary range of $33,000 – $41,000 annually, depending on geography/market, tenure, performance, skills, education, experience, and qualifications. Overtime is paid for hours worked beyond 40 per week (or as required by state law).
