HVAC/R TECHNICIAN

About the Role

Identify, repair, maintain, install, and/or replace HVAC systems and equipment to ensure proper and efficient operation.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses causes of problems and/or failures in heating/cooling/refrigeration systems to identify repair and/or replacement needs.
• Travels to customer locations using the best possible route after receiving service assignments.
• Stays in close contact with dispatcher regarding work order procedures and status to provide decision-making information, take appropriate action, and comply with building and safety regulations.
• Inspects systems and components to evaluate condition, identify necessary repairs, and recommend preventative maintenance.
• Prepares service invoices noting customer details, hours worked, materials used, and secures customer signatures or COD payments when appropriate.
• Installs equipment and systems to provide enhanced or upgraded capabilities.
• Documents hours worked, job numbers, and mileage on time cards.
• Maintains vehicle, tools, and equipment to ensure availability and safe operating conditions.
• Participates in service meetings, workshops, training, and seminars to convey and gather job-related information.
• Requests equipment and supplies to maintain inventory and ensure availability for installations and repairs.
• Available to work overtime to handle peak demand or emergency situations.
• Performs other related duties to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work team.

Requirements

• Valid Massachusetts Driver’s license.
• Universal EPA Refrigerant Certificate.
