About the role
The successful candidate will be responsible for working independently with cooling, ventilating, and building control systems in commercial and industrial buildings, specifically within data centers. They will troubleshoot and diagnose problems, manage startup and commissioning projects, and communicate with sales engineers and customers.
Responsibilities
- Use operational understanding of HVAC/R systems to work on split systems, DX systems, glycol, and controls.
- Perform standard Preventative Maintenance duties on Liebert/Vertiv Equipment efficiently and without requiring supervision.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose problems, change out compressors, failed parts, etc. on all A/C equipment and direct HVAC Technicians and HVAC Technician Assistants on how to assist.
- Communicate daily with dispatcher reporting job by job information about equipment ID, estimated time to complete job, labor hours and parts used.
- Manage larger startup and commissioning projects on Liebert/Vertiv Equipment.
- Interface with the customer on a professional basis and present Liebert/Vertiv and DVL in a positive light.
- May direct team of installing contractors.
- Assist in training of Thermal Technicians and Technician Assistants.
- Handle refrigerant, reclaimer, vacuum pump, and other essential tools safely.
- Operate and maintain company vehicle, laptop, and iPhone.
- Perform frequent scheduled on-call & overtime duties in surrounding area.
- Complete Liebert/Vertiv Training classes as required.
Requirements
- Minimum HVAC Certificate from a college or trade school.
- Universal EPA Certification.
- At least 5 years full-time commercial/industrial HVAC/R experience.
- Experience with Liebert iCom a plus.
- Experience in all aspects of handling refrigerant and making all necessary repairs.
- Experience in trouble shooting both simple and complex electrical and refrigeration systems.
- Self-starter experience.
- Safety training required, OSHA 10 preferred.
- Valid driver’s license to drive to customer sites.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Available to perform frequent scheduled on-call & overtime duties in surrounding area.
- Proficient in Outlook, Microsoft Word and Excel.
Qualifications
- Minimum Requirements To Apply: HVAC Certificate from a college or trade school, Universal EPA Certification, Over five years full-time commercial/industrial HVAC/R experience, Experience with Liebert iCom a plus, Experience in all aspects of handling refrigerant and making all necessary repairs, Experience in trouble shooting both simple and complex electrical and refrigeration systems, Self-starter experience, Safety training required, OSHA 10 preferred, Valid driver’s license to drive to customer sites, Excellent customer service skills, Available to perform frequent scheduled on-call & overtime duties in surrounding area, Proficient in Outlook, Microsoft Word and Excel.
