MSS, located in West Monroe, LA, is expanding our operations and seeking an experienced HVAC/R Technician to join our team in the Montgomery, AL area and surrounding counties. This role offers the opportunity to further develop your skills while working with an excellent customer base.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine repairs to pump seals, bearings, and related components.
- Inspect and test systems to verify compliance with plans and specifications or to detect and locate malfunctions.
- Determine customer concerns with HVAC and boiler systems.
- Follow company standards, policies, and procedures, including safety protocols and maintaining a clean work area.
- Record and report faults, deficiencies, and unusual occurrences, as well as time and materials expended on work orders.
- Adjust system controls to manufacturer-recommended settings to balance the system.
- Recommend, develop, or perform maintenance procedures such as cleaning, power-washing, or vacuuming equipment, lubricating parts, or changing filters.
- Install auxiliary components to heating-cooling equipment, including expansion and discharge valves, air ducts, pipes, blowers, dampers, flues, and stokers, following blueprints.
- Study blueprints, design specifications, and manufacturers' recommendations to ascertain the configuration of heating or cooling equipment components and ensure proper installation.
- Fabricate, assemble, or install ductwork or chassis parts using portable metal-working tools or welding equipment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 5+ years of commercial HVAC maintenance experience.
- Universally EPA Certified.
- Ability to troubleshoot HVAC components in built-up systems and package units, including chiller air handlers, pump towers, cooling towers, control systems, boilers, and air handling systems.
- Ability to develop commercial expertise in boilers, chillers, pneumatic controls, digital controls, and packaged HVAC equipment.
- Ability to read electronic schematics.
- High School diploma/GED required, plus equivalent work experience.
