About the Role
The HVAC Preventative Maintenance Laborer will perform preventative maintenance and servicing of industrial and commercial-grade Heating, Cooling, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems to support facility sustainment services at Fort Hood, TX.
Responsibilities
- Remove and replace disposable filters, and remove, wash, and replace reusable filters.
- Clean fan coils, condensate pans and lines, evaporator units, and cooling towers.
- Assist others in more complex or physically demanding tasks.
- Perform routine maintenance work such as sweeping, debris removal, litter pickup, and general housekeeping tasks.
- Occasionally operate a government-furnished vehicle.
- Use a variety of common hand tools to perform tasks.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum one (1) year of field experience supporting an HVAC Preventive Maintenance Program in a commercial or industrial setting (preferred).
- Possess a valid Driver's License.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Basic working knowledge of facility maintenance and operating characteristics.
- Good organization and communication skills, with the ability to deal with all levels of people both inside and outside the company.
- Preferred: Industry experience in related shop mathematics and the interpretation and application of building plans, specifications, schematics, diagrams, blueprints, and sketches of all complexity.
- Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds.
Physical Demands
The employee is regularly required to sit, talk, and hear. The role involves repeated motions of the arms, wrists, hands, and fingers. Occasionally, the employee must walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must also occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision.
