Job Description
This position is responsible for proper operation of mechanical systems and equipment. These systems are life support systems or essential utilities, including heating, ventilation and air conditioning, critical and commercial refrigeration, special ventilation hoods, terminal and control equipment, pneumatic, automated building systems and direct digital controls.
Responsibilities
- Maintains a safe campus environment by monitoring, troubleshooting, and customizing the HVAC Energy Management System to optimize energy savings.
- Completes inspections and repairs of all mechanical and refrigeration equipment according to established procedures.
- Lowers equipment downtime and repair costs by utilizing a maintenance schedule.
- Completes required documentation in reference to all equipment, mechanical and refrigeration systems as required by federal, state, and regulatory agencies.
Education
- High School diploma or GED/Equivalent (required)
- HVAC apprenticeship or 2 years associates degree (preferred)
Experience
- 5 years commercial/industrial HVAC and refrigeration (required)
- 10 years commercial/industrial HVAC and refrigeration (preferred)
Licensure
- Current Valid Driver’s License must be maintained (required)
- HVAC Journeyman (preferred)
- EPA Technician Certification (preferred)
