HVAC Maintenance Mechanic
About the role
As an HVAC Maintenance Mechanic, you will maintain the facility’s environmental systems under the direct supervision of the Facilities Supervisor. You will assist with general maintenance, installation, and repairs of expansion units, chilled water fan cool units, refrigeration equipment, and pneumatic/electronic control systems. The role involves both routine and emergency tasks to ensure a comfortable, safe, and functional environment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair refrigeration equipment, applying theories and practices of refrigeration systems.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical components of HVAC systems, applying electrical theories and practices.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical aspects of HVAC systems, applying mechanical theories and practices.
- Repair, maintain, and troubleshoot HVAC systems and building management systems using control theory.
- Troubleshoot and manipulate building automation systems.
- Conduct audits of system performance and make adjustments to maintain efficient operation.
Requirements
- High School Graduate or GED in General Studies.
- 4-6 years of experience in installation, repair, and maintenance of small and large-capacity commercial HVAC equipment, including air conditioning, evaporative cooling, exhaust, and ventilation systems.
- Trade school education with specialized training in HVAC (preferred).
- Valid Nebraska Driver’s License.

You will work at CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center - Bergan Mercy, a patient-centered, Level I trauma center and academic medical campus. The facility provides a full range of services, including trauma, heart and vascular care, emergency services, surgery, maternity, cancer care, and diagnostic imaging.
Pay
$22.51 - $31.79 per hour.
