HVAC Installer

About the role

Jetson is a company dedicated to accelerating the transition of 100 million homes in North America to sustainable energy use. We focus on heat pump systems to reduce carbon emissions from homes, which are significant sources of greenhouse gases. Our goal is to make clean energy accessible, transparent, and affordable.

Responsibilities

• Complete full heat pump system installs from start to finish, including removing existing gas equipment and preparing spaces for the new installation.
• Execute refrigerant recovery, system evacuation, and proper charging with care and precision.
• Read blueprints and wiring diagrams to ensure accurate installations and troubleshooting.
• Stay current on local building codes and ensure all jobs are compliant before completion.
• Deliver a standout customer experience by answering questions clearly, addressing concerns promptly, and ensuring homeowners are satisfied with their decision.
• Catch quality issues early and communicate them to ensure corrections are made.
• Maintain organized, well-stocked vehicles and warehouse as part of daily routines.
• Collaborate with fellow installers and our engineering team to identify improvements and enhance our processes.

Requirements

• Solid hands-on residential HVAC install experience, including working in attics, crawlspaces, and tight or physically demanding environments.
• HVACR license (required).
• EPA Section 608 Certification (required or actively in progress).
• Ability to read blueprints and wiring schematics.
• Working knowledge of local building codes and compliance.
• Strong refrigerant handling skills, including recovery, evacuation, and charging.
• A sharp eye for quality and a low tolerance for cutting corners.
• Clear, professional communication with both customers and teammates.
• A problem-solving mindset when dealing with unexpected challenges.
• Physical stamina to handle heavy equipment and work across varied conditions.
• Experience with heat pumps or mini-splits is a strong plus, but we will invest in growing that expertise if you're eager to learn.

Qualifications

• Follows OSHA Electrical Standard.
• Follows the Occupational Safety and Health Administration's (OSHA) Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) standard.
