HVAC Installation and Service Apprentice

About the role

Comfort Systems USA Shoffner is seeking an HVAC Service Apprentice who is eager to learn and eager to contribute to a team that prioritizes customer care. This position offers opportunities to learn from experienced technicians and potentially enroll in an HVAC school program based on performance.

Responsibilities

• Learn how to properly install HVAC equipment and ductwork.
• Gain knowledge of HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical systems.
• Maintain and troubleshoot Commercial HVAC equipment.
• Service split systems, rooftop units, heat pumps, DX Systems, etc.
• Test and replace parts using appropriate instruments.
• Perform preventative maintenance for commercial customers.
• Remain customer service focused.
• Be safety conscious and follow all safety protocols.
• Other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• High mechanical aptitude.
• Experience or certification in HVAC trade school or commercial HVAC experience is preferred.
• Pass a background check and motor vehicle record check.
• Be punctual and reliable.
• Work 10-hour days and overtime when necessary.
• On-call availability.
• Work in extreme conditions including heat, cold, and bad weather.
• Stand and walk throughout the workday, and lift/carry up to 60 lbs.
• Work in confined spaces.
• Perform reaching above shoulders, crawling, squatting, kneeling, bending.

Pay

Your pay: $17 to $24 per hour, depending on experience.

Schedule

Work 10-hour days and overtime when necessary.
