HVAC Estimator

About the role

JCM Associates, Inc. is seeking a driven and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an HVAC Estimator. This is a full-time, in the office, position focused on estimating for commercial construction projects in the Maryland, Virginia, and DC areas.

Qualifications

• Capable of reviewing specifications, plans, and creating material take-offs from drawings, while considering project site requirements
• Experience using QuoteSoft estimating software utilizing on-screen takeoff (OST) software effectively
• Understanding of various HVAC systems and their function and required components
• Experience with MS Office, especially Excel
• Capable of following company processes and procedures with keen attention to detail
• Proven ability to multi-task, set priorities, and work independently
• Proven ability to "fill-in" missing information for a complete HVAC piping and equipment take-off
• Time management skills required to meet bid due dates
• Strong communication skills
• Equivalent technical HVAC knowledge
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years of estimating commercial Mechanical/HVAC systems

Key Responsibilities

• In this role, you will be responsible for quantitative and detailed material take-offs of P-V-F and equipment in the preparation of comprehensive budgets, pre-construction proposals, hard bids, negotiated bids, and design-build proposals
• Review specifications and drawings and attend internal pre-bid meetings
• Collaborate with the Estimating team members in the preparation of project bids
• Coincide with the Bid Team in the estimating effort for assigned bids/projects, working closely with the Bid Team
• Maintain accurate documentation and backup files for estimates per company standards
• Interface with Bid Team to provide cost data of HVAC take-offs
