About the role
In this position, you will install, program, and service commercial building digital control systems. Responsibilities will grow based on your troubleshooting skills and consistent completion of assignments. You’ll work with Daikin-branded controls and third-party Building Automation Systems (BAS).
Responsibilities
- Provide responsive, professional customer service to build and maintain long-term relationships
- Identify, analyze, diagnose, and troubleshoot direct digital control systems
- Perform preventative maintenance, commissioning, and replacement modifications as needed
- Maintain BAS by inspecting trend logs, reports, schedules, applications, hardware, and programming
- Offer controls technical support to HVAC technicians
- Create and implement programming and graphics for new installations and retrofit projects
- Commission controls installations and verify sequences meet scope, design, or specifications
- Record and report billing, inventory, timecards, technician tip reports, and other required documents
- Interact with and train customers, providing status reports and explaining technical details to all audiences
- Participate in training through regional trainers, off-site modules, and Daikin Learning; maintain certifications
- Uphold company standards, policies, procedures, and maintain a clean work area
- Follow all OSHA and Daikin Applied safety policies and procedures
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Technical training and 3+ years of equivalent education/experience
- Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
- Rotational Emergency Call Support as required
- Required license(s) and/or training card as mandated by local law
- Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in BAS, HVAC, or related industry
- Proficiency with test instruments and calibration tools
- Competency in engineering/commissioning tools, DDC controllers, field devices, and BACnet protocol
- Ability to operate HVAC equipment and controls
- Skill in reading low voltage wiring diagrams and controls flow diagrams
- Niagara AX and/or Niagara 4 certification
- Experience with integration protocols: BACnet MST/IP, LON, Modbus TCP/RTU, Ethernet OIP, MQTT, or SQL
- Strong computer skills, including networking fundamentals
- OSHA 10 certification (provided during onboarding)
- Current first aid/CPR card

Pay
The typical hourly pay rate for this position ranges from $31.60 to $50.37 in Alabama, depending on skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
