About the role

The Human Trafficking Coordinator at Volunteers of America Delaware Valley supports the Navigator Program by conducting outreach in designated human trafficking “hot spot” areas, engaging potential victims, completing assessments, and connecting individuals to appropriate victim services. This role also collaborates with the Navigator Program to ensure that non-HT individuals receive appropriate assistance and support.

Responsibilities

  • Coverage of designated human trafficking “hot spot” areas through outreach
  • Engagement and building trust with potential victims of human trafficking
  • Completion of thorough assessments and connection to appropriate victim services
  • Collection and entry of assessment and research data into the Give Hope Database
  • Collaboration with the Navigator Program to refer non-HT individuals for appropriate assistance
  • Development and maintenance of relationships with funding agencies, partnering agencies, and community resources
  • Identification and response to outreach and human trafficking-related training opportunities
  • Attendance at required staff meetings, conferences, trainings, and grant-required HT assessment trainings
  • Planning and presenting community forums/information sessions on behalf of VOADV three times per year
  • Overseeing Human Trafficking Specialists
  • Maintenance of accurate statistical reporting and management of client assistance budget responsibilities
  • Identification and presentation of matters requiring decision-making to the Regional IMPACT Director
  • Maintenance of confidentiality and compliance with operational policies and procedures
  • Completion of other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum of 2 years of human services experience required; 5 years preferred
  • Experience working with trauma-informed care and/or victims of human trafficking
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and follow-through
  • Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Access, Excel, and Word
  • Ability to build positive relationships with clients, staff, community members, law enforcement, funders, and partner agencies
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet agency driving standards
