About the role

The Human Services Program Representative 1 with the Department of Human Services (DHS) supports programs that make a real difference for children and families across Pennsylvania. This position collaborates with multiple bureaus to strengthen statewide operations and provides leadership in creating training and technical support that drives consistent, high-quality certification work. The role is based in the Bureau of Certification Services and focuses on strengthening services that support communities every day.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate training efforts with staff, agencies, and stakeholders to meet certification needs
  • Follow federal and state requirements for child care certification and licensing
  • Provide training through presentations, webinars, and meetings across regional offices
  • Collect and examine data to help understand outcomes and support program planning
  • Create and update training materials, manuals, and support tools for certification staff
  • Lead and participate in training and technical assistance work groups and report results

Requirements

  • Three years of professional experience developing, implementing, or evaluating a human service program, and a bachelor’s degree; or an equivalent combination of experience and training
  • Must meet the PA residency requirement
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions

Schedule

Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week. Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.

Telework may be available up to three days per week, subject to change. To telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If unable to telework, you may report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
