Human Services Program Coordinator

The School offers two bachelor’s degree programs (Child, Youth, and Family Studies; Social Work) and two graduate programs (Master of Social Work, Ph.D. in Social Work and Social Research). The BSW and MSW programs are fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. The School enrolls approximately 350 undergraduates and 600+ graduate students, supported by 33 full-time and 55 part-time faculty.

The School is also a leader in applied social science research and training, conducting over $10 million annually in sponsored projects. Research initiatives are supported by funders such as the Health Resources and Service Administration, National Institutes of Health, National Science Foundation, U.S. Department of Justice, W.T. Grant Foundation, and Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. Key research units include:

About the Role

The Human Services Program Coordinator manages the fully online, asynchronous Human Services Program, designed to remove geographic and scheduling barriers for Oregon’s working adult population. The program serves working adults, community college transfer students, incumbent workforce practitioners, veterans, and students from rural and underserved Oregon communities. It is the School of Social Work’s only PIVOT GROW-designated program, created with $2.4M in HECC Future Ready Oregon funding and supported by an OHA Behavioral Health Workforce earmark.

The program reached 58 declared majors in Year 2—on track to meet its HECC-approved Year 5 enrollment target of 60 students three years ahead of schedule. The coordinator will sustain growth, execute required GROW actions, and prepare the program for NOHS accreditation in AY 2028-29.

Due to the online nature of the program, the coordinator may request a remote work agreement with some on-campus presence.

Responsibilities

• Manage the fully online, asynchronous Human Services undergraduate degree program.
• Sustain program growth and meet enrollment targets.
• Execute GROW-designated actions and prepare for NOHS accreditation in AY 2028-29.
• Develop and deliver online asynchronous courses.
• Design or operationalize virtual or simulation-based learning environments.
• Establish program metrics and growth-oriented planning.
• Collaborate with community colleges, workforce partners, and external stakeholders.
• Support first-generation and historically marginalized students.
• Work autonomously in a fully remote environment.

Requirements

• MSW or MA in Human Services or closely related field (Psychology, Public Health, Education, Human Development).
• Six (6) years post-degree professional practice experience in Human Services (micro, meso, or macro).
• Three (3) years academic teaching experience, including online asynchronous course development and delivery.
• Demonstrated experience with Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) principles, policy, or implementation.
• Two (2) years experience designing or operationalizing virtual or simulation-based learning environments.
• Two (2) years academic program coordination experience.
• Two (2) years experience establishing program metrics, enrollment targets, or growth-oriented planning.
• Demonstrated commitment to racial equity and supporting first-generation and historically marginalized students.
• Experience collaborating with community colleges, workforce partners, or external stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• PhD or DSW in Human Services, Social Work, HDFS, or related discipline.
• Prior experience as academic program director, chair, or coordinator for an online degree program.
• Documented experience designing and implementing CPL credential equivalency frameworks.
• Experience identifying and securing external grant funding to support program growth.
• Knowledge of Oregon transfer pathways, HECC/UCC governance, and community college articulation.
• Familiarity with NOHS accreditation standards or accreditation self-study preparation.
• Knowledge of SB 1545 priority populations and Oregon behavioral health workforce landscape.
• Budget planning and enrollment management experience in a growth context.

Pay

The starting annual salary for this position will be between $90,324 and $90,864, dependent on experience, skills, market parity, and internal equity.
