About the role
The Human Service Specialist is a member of the Interactions & Skill Building Team, providing support to children and families involved in the child welfare system. The position focuses on facilitating supervised family visits, delivering parent education, and supporting trauma‑informed, family‑centered practices.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate supervised family visits in various settings.
- Offer parent education on parenting, mental health, and substance use.
- Support trauma‑informed, family‑centered practices.
- Collaborate with case managers and service teams to coordinate interventions.
- Maintain accurate documentation and prepare reports for legal proceedings.
- Participate in team meetings, supervision, and training.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least one year of experience in human services.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working with children and families.
- Knowledge of counseling and community resources.
- Proficiency with electronic documentation systems.
