Essential Job Functions
- Provides direct services such as counseling, psychotherapy, education, crisis intervention, and case management.
- Documents all service-related activities, including time spent per activity per client, mileage accrued, charting, staff notes, etc.
- Participates in supervision and/or professional development activities.
- Participates in Quality Improvement or SCS-wide activities.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Special Education, or Human Services.
- Must be enrolled in an accredited Master’s program in Social Work, Psychology, or Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
Experience
- Three to six months of volunteer work or structured, experiential learning (e.g., practicum or learning lab) in field of behavioral health or developmental disabilities.
Physical Demands/Requirements
- No unusual physical demands.
- Occasionally requires walking, standing, stooping, or bending.
- May involve occasional exposure to threat of bodily harm (e.g., from clients or their families).
- Normal work tasks involve no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissue, but employment may require performing tasks on an unplanned or occasional basis that involve exposure to those substances.
- May require a driver's license.
Interpersonal Skills
- Good interpersonal skills.
Knowledge
- Basic knowledge of mental health, chemical dependency, or developmental disability issues.
