Essential Job Functions

  • Provides direct services such as counseling, psychotherapy, education, crisis intervention, and case management.
  • Documents all service-related activities, including time spent per activity per client, mileage accrued, charting, staff notes, etc.
  • Participates in supervision and/or professional development activities.
  • Participates in Quality Improvement or SCS-wide activities.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Special Education, or Human Services.
  • Must be enrolled in an accredited Master’s program in Social Work, Psychology, or Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

Experience

  • Three to six months of volunteer work or structured, experiential learning (e.g., practicum or learning lab) in field of behavioral health or developmental disabilities.

Physical Demands/Requirements

  • No unusual physical demands.
  • May occasionally require walking or standing, stooping or bending.
  • May involve occasional exposure to threat of bodily harm (e.g., from clients or their families).
  • Normal work tasks involve no exposure to blood, body fluids or tissue, but employment may require performing tasks on an unplanned or occasional basis that involve exposure to those substances.
  • May require driver's license.

Interpersonal Skills and Knowledge

  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Basic knowledge of mental health, chemical dependency, or developmental disability issues.

Time Type

  • Part time.
