About the Role

The Human Resources Talent Specialist manages the organization's talent acquisition efforts while supporting onboarding, employee engagement, and talent management initiatives. This position partners with hiring managers to identify staffing needs, recruit top talent, and deliver an exceptional candidate and new hire experience. In addition to recruiting, the HR Talent Specialist assists with workforce planning, HR generalist Level 1 issues, recruiting analytics, and continuous improvement of the hiring process. This role serves as a trusted HR partner dedicated to building a high-performing workforce that supports AlarMax's continued growth.

Responsibilities

  • Talent Acquisition
    • Manage the full-cycle recruiting process from approved requisition through accepted offer.
    • Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and develop recruiting strategies.
    • Create job postings and source qualified candidates.
    • Screen resumes, conduct phone interviews, and coordinate interviews.
    • Guide candidates through the hiring process while providing an exceptional experience.
    • Conduct reference checks and coordinate background screenings.
    • Prepare offer letters and maintain ATS records.
    • Build talent pipelines for future hiring needs.
  • Onboarding & New Hire Experience
    • Coordinate all pre-employment activities.
    • Partner with IT, Payroll, and managers to prepare for new hires.
    • Coordinate orientation and onboarding.
    • Monitor onboarding milestones and first 90-day experience.
    • Assist with succession planning.
    • Support employee engagement and recognition initiatives.
  • Recruiting Analytics & Reporting
    • Maintain recruiting dashboards and metrics.
    • Prepare hiring reports for leadership.
    • Recommend recruiting process improvements.
  • HR Administration and HR Generalist Level I
    • Ensure compliance with employment laws.
    • Handle Level 1 HR questions regarding general HR issues including but not limited to PTO, benefits, policies, payroll, and employment verification.
    • Escalate employee relations, investigations, performance issues, and compliance matters to the Sr. Director of People & Culture.
    • Support HR projects and continuous improvement.
    • Maintain confidentiality.

Requirements

  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
    • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Experience
    • 2–5 years of Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, or Recruiting experience.
    • Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems (ADP Workforce Now preferred).
  • Skills & Abilities
    • Strong knowledge of recruiting best practices and employment laws.
    • Excellent interviewing and relationship-building skills.
    • Strong communication, organization, and analytical skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS/ATS systems.

  • Physical Requirements
    • Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods.
    • Occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.
