Human Resources Specialist I
About the role
In this role, you will support Correctional Officer candidates throughout the hiring process by reviewing and verifying applicant information and required documents, responding to questions about the application steps, ensuring timely and accurate processing of all applications, and scheduling applicants for the Pre-Service Training Academy, Pilot Program, and Direct Hire.

Requirements
- At least six months of full-time experience in human resources, customer service, administrative support, program administration, or public administration
- Strong desire to help others
- Reliability and professionalism
- Strong work ethic
- Confident and effective communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks consistently, efficiently, and with accuracy
Qualifications
You'd be a GREAT fit if you meet the following qualifications:
- At least one year of full-time experience in human resources, program administration, or public administration
- Strong foundation in recruitment support
- Degree in human resources, business administration, or related field
- Success in coordinating portions of the hiring process
- Experience resolving applicant inquiries
- Ability to streamline workflows for improved efficiency
- Excellent organizational skills
- Initiative and ability to adapt quickly to new systems and procedures
- Proactive in identifying ways to enhance the applicant experience
Additional Information
- Retiree salary will be 2.5% less than the posted salary
- No travel required; position may make day trips but no overnight trips
- No work site visits or study material required
- No Pre-Service Training Academy required
- Not a hazardous duty or longevity position
