About the role
M Culinary Concepts is seeking a passionate and experienced Human Resources Specialist to join our dynamic team. We believe our people are the foundation of our success.
Key Responsibilities
- HR Administration: Serve as the initial point of contact for HR-related inquiries from employees, providing timely and accurate information or directing inquiries to the appropriate resource.
- Maintain HR files, both paper and digital, and records in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Conduct regular audits of UKG Ready to ensure accuracy and compliance, all UKG Ready data entry, and process all employment status changes (terms, status changes, promotions etc).
- Perform HR functions including management of the general HR email inbox, new hire state reporting, and verification of employment requests.
- Create, maintain, and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) as needed to ensure clarity and consistency in HR practices.
- Manage UKG Wallet, ensuring proper setup, functionality, and employee communication.
- Review labor data for all full-time team members to ensure overtime is managed appropriately.
- Conduct HR job audits monthly to ensure accuracy of job titles, codes, and related data in UKG Ready.
- Aid with other HR functions and projects as needed to ensure team and company objectives are met.
Onboarding & Engagement
- Coordinate and facilitate the onboarding process for all new hires, including conducting orientations, collecting required paperwork, and ensuring a smooth transition into the company.
- Act as a point of contact for new hires, providing guidance and support throughout the onboarding process.
- Develop schedules for new hires to provide a structured 90-day plan that fosters confidence, support, and engagement.
- Create and maintain onboarding materials, including welcome packets, training resources, and employee handbooks.
- Coordinate the distribution of welcome, promotion, and anniversary gifts to team members, ensuring a positive and inclusive experience.
- Manage and lead the M App internal program.
- Aid with HR team members with scheduling interviews, job offers, and onboarding as needed.
- Assist with HR projects and initiatives to enhance overall employee experience.
- Provide on-site support at special events, including employee check-in and engagement activities.
- Manage swag purchasing and inventory to ensure consistent branding and employee recognition efforts.
- Manage CEO Lunch rollouts and other engagement-related initiatives.
- Develop and implement employee engagement programs to foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
Training & Development
- Train and lead programs, including New Employee Orientation (NEO), UKG training 30/60/90 and onboarding training.
- Evaluate training effectiveness and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of HR experience required; experience in hospitality or foodservice strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of HR practices, employment law, and compliance requirements.
- Experience with UKG Ready or similar HRIS preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong focus on employee engagement and customer service.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Comfortable presenting and facilitating group training sessions.
- Ability to function effectively in a high-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities.
