About the Role

The Human Resources Specialist provides general support to the Human Resources Department, relieving the director and managers of administrative duties such as reception, employee events, and job fairs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist other members of the Human Resources Department with assigned projects and various events.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to applicants, Team Members, and leadership as needed.
  • Assist HR personnel with various functions within the applicant tracking system, including screening/sourcing applicants, checking for completed new hire paperwork, processing termination transactions, sending contact letters, and updating badging information in the HR database.
  • Support Hard Rock Team Members with all areas of Human Resources (Employee Relations/Labor Relations, Payroll, Benefits, Gaming) after normal business hours.
  • Complete weekly termination report audits.
  • Assist the Employee Relations/Labor Relations Team with planning and executing Team Member events.
  • Manage the Three-Year Renewal process, including contacting Team Members, reviewing forms, notarizing documents, scheduling appointments with the Indiana Gaming Commission (IGC), and submitting paperwork prior to appointments.
  • Administer the Exit Interview and Stay Interview processes, analyze data, and generate reports for operators.
  • Coordinate the Work Opportunity Tax Credit function.
  • Assist with unemployment claims and processing as needed.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all data and information.
  • Provide timely and courteous internal guest service to Team Members of all levels.
  • Assist with other new hire-related functions during peak hiring seasons.
  • Perform work in compliance with all Indiana Gaming Regulations.
  • Attend seminars as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or higher and 1 or more years of work experience in Human Resources or another professional environment.
  • Must obtain and maintain all licenses/certifications per Federal, State, and Indiana Gaming Commission requirements.
  • Must successfully pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Must be twenty-one (21) years of age.
  • Excellent telephone etiquette required.
  • Must be able to work holidays, weekends, and flexible shifts.

Skills

  • Knowledge of office procedures, methods, and equipment, including computers and applicable software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations.
  • Ability to present an image of excitement, enthusiasm, and professionalism.
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Ability to develop successful working relationships with management and peers both within and outside the department.
  • Clear and concise communication, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
