About the Role

This in-office, corporate Human Resources Specialist role supports a casino, hospitality, and restaurant business. The position focuses on recruiting and day-to-day HR operations, including administrative tasks, talent acquisition, onboarding, employee relations, and benefits administration.

Responsibilities

  • Support the organization by maximizing the company HRIS with transactions and data management.
  • Manage maintenance and accuracy of employee data for reporting and distribution.
  • Ensure compliance with professional standards, state, and federal regulatory requirements related to recordkeeping and reporting.
  • Audit and confirm all data entered, maintain data in HRIS systems, and research/report on data discrepancies.
  • Perform updates, exports, imports, clean-ups, and data analysis on HR data such as compensation, classification, and employment.
  • Deliver routine daily/weekly/monthly reporting and respond to ad hoc data requests.
  • Provide assistance on laborious assignments and respond to inquiries regarding Affinity’s policies and procedures.
  • Train users on HR transactions as needed.
  • Participate in corporate HR annual initiatives, policy development, and process improvements.
  • Support the HR Management team with special projects.
  • Navigate and support ATS (Applicant Tracking System) transactions, troubleshoot issues, and provide training.
  • Post available positions on third-party platforms, review applicants, and send them to hiring managers.
  • Process new hires, including gaming registration and monthly gaming data updates.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of all company policies and procedures, including fire and safety regulations.
  • Knowledge of federal and state leave laws (e.g., FMLA, CFRA, PDLL, ADA), with California knowledge desired.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Strong professional communication (verbal and written) with employees at all levels.
  • Ability to handle sensitive employee information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Experience with HRIS and leave management systems (e.g., UGK, BASIC, Sedgwick, Kronos).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • High-volume restaurant experience preferred.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is required.
