About the role
The City of Baldwin Park seeks a Human Resources/Risk Manager to join our team. This position plays a crucial role in managing human resources and risk management programs.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for human resources and risk management.
- Oversee employee benefits administration, including health, dental, vision, and life insurance.
- Manage employee relations, conduct investigations, and resolve conflicts.
- Coordinate training and development programs for staff.
- Assist with compliance with labor laws and regulations.
- Prepare reports and maintain records related to human resources and risk management activities.
- Work closely with the Risk Management team to identify and mitigate potential risks.
Requirements
- At least five years of progressively responsible experience performing multiple phases of human resources and risk management programs, preferably in a public sector environment.
- At least three years of supervisory and mid-level management experience, preferably within a government agency.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration or closely related field.
- An IPMA Certified Professional (CP) or Senior Certified Professional Certificate (SCP) and/or SHRM certificate is desirable.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of human resources and risk management principles and practices.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems.

- Experience with risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective negotiation and conflict resolution skills.

Pay
Monthly salary range: $10,599.59 - $14,204.46.
