Responsibilities
- Open and route incoming mail, distributing correspondence and materials to department staff.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
- Process agency pay requisitions to accounting.
- Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of human resources files and records.
- Answer frequently asked questions from applicants and employees regarding standard policies, benefits, and hiring processes; refer complex questions to senior-level HR management.
- Answer telephones, route callers, take messages, and provide routine information; communicate effectively with other departments as necessary.
- Maintain a smooth flow of visitors through the department by directing applications, staff, and visitors to appropriate areas; ensure proper phone coverage.
- Ensure criminal background checks for volunteer applicants are completed in a timely manner and report findings to the Volunteer Office Manager.
- Maintain adequate inventory of office supplies, reordering or reporting low levels to supervisor as needed.
- Assist employees with HRIS system functions such as transfers, direct deposits, and disciplinary history communication.
- Maintain employee files in compliance with Joint Commission standards.
- Perform various clerical functions as needed.
- Demonstrate exceptional customer service through respect, flexibility, professionalism, and a helpful attitude; ensure timely, caring, and respectful responses in line with Customer Service Performance expectations.
- Understand and adhere to the Medical Center’s Code of Conduct.
- Familiarize yourself with the Medical Center’s Mission, Vision, and Values Statements.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements
- 0-2 years of prior HR experience preferred.
- Typing speed of 45 words per minute.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to speak, read, and write English as required by the position.
- Second language is a plus.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
Pay
$47,000 to $52,000 annually.
