About the role
The Human Resources Manager is a valued member of the City of Stillwater's Senior Leadership Team, providing leadership and professional expertise in the planning, administration, and coordination of the City's Human Resources Division.
Responsibilities
- Works collaboratively with the City Administrator, department leaders, and employees to support organizational goals through effective human resource programs, policies, and services.
- Administers and oversees a broad range of human resource functions, including labor relations, classification and compensation, recruitment and selection, employee relations, performance management, policy and procedure development, training and professional development, employee wellness initiatives, HR records and systems management, and strategic workforce planning.
- Ensures compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations while fostering a positive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace culture.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in human resources management.
- Experience in labor relations, employee relations, and performance management.
- Strong knowledge of state and federal employment laws and regulations.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems.
