About the role

This position serves as a human resources service, advice, and counsel provider to the plant’s management and employee team. It involves acquiring, developing, deploying, and retaining human resources while aligning with business strategy, goals, and objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes and maintains effective and supportive business relationships with the plant manager and staff.
  • Provides service to all plant employees through payroll, benefits, record-keeping, employee relations, health and safety, and career/professional development.
  • Recruits, identifies, and selects candidates for vacant positions.
  • Conducts on-boarding and off-boarding processes for employees.
  • Counsels employees, supervisors, and managers on effective interpersonal communications and conflict resolution.
  • Coordinates with the Safety Department to ensure compliance with health and safety standards and participates in safety committee meetings.
  • Identifies, investigates, and resolves performance and conduct issues with employees.
  • Coordinates and conducts training for plant management, supervisors, and employees on various topics.
  • Oversees the performance management program and compensation planning.
  • Maintains compliance with corporate policies, procedures, and legal regulations.
  • Administers employee records and files according to corporate and legal guidance.
  • Collects and analyzes data to measure the effectiveness of HR programs, policies, and activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree with at least 5 years of applicable business experience, including 5 years in human resources in a manufacturing environment.
  • SPHR or PHR certification preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bilingual English & Spanish required.
  • Extensive experience in human resources generalist roles within consumer food production environments.
  • Proven track record in leading HR teams.
  • Strong customer focus and passion for employee service.
  • Maturity, self-confidence, and strong communication skills.
  • High level of business or related academic achievement.
  • Experience in financial management, including budget and project analysis.
