About the role

A Human Resources Manager's responsibilities include assisting and coordinating the HR function at the hotel to attract, retain, develop, and motivate team members in accordance with policies, procedures, and all applicable laws and regulations, while limiting liabilities and promoting a safe, fair, and positive work environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet applicants and employees
• Handle incoming/outgoing phone calls
• Maintain employee personnel files for active and terminated employees
• Maintain I-9 compliance, keeping records current
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Report all unsafe conditions immediately
• Assist managers in lowering attrition
• Demonstrate positive leadership characteristics to inspire employees
• Abide by and monitor compliance with the hotel’s Affirmative Action program
• Administer company and property benefits programs, ensuring ACA compliance
• Assist with all recruiting and employment efforts
• Maintain applicant records and personnel files, including medical and confidential files
• Perform in the capacity of any positions supervised as needed
• Promote employee empowerment
• Select, train, supervise, develop, discipline, and counsel employees
• Monitor Affirmative Action applicant flow logs
• Screen applicants
• Set up new employee personnel files
• Type, draft, and edit written correspondence
• Arrange uniforms for employees to company standards
• Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor, including cross-training
• Fax documents
• File paperwork
• Order office supplies
• Prepare orientation packets
• Receive incoming uniform orders and place into stock
• Train employees in uniform care
• Attend mandatory meetings
• Maintain office supply inventories
• Conduct orientation and training activities
• Facilitate the resolution of employee relations issues
• Identify useful labor markets/sources and maintain a ready supply to meet hotel needs
• Administer compensation policy within Davidson and hotel guidelines
• Complete monthly turnover and manpower reports as applicable
• Conduct management training programs as applicable
• Develop employee recognition, incentive, and other workforce campaigns
• Identify and recommend solutions to the management team
• Process and distribute payroll
• Issue employee lockers and/or locks
• Process nametag requests
• Assist in the planning of social events
• Monitor employee incentive programs

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of equivalent experience
• Business communication skills
• Read, write, and speak English fluently
• Public speaking experience
• Working knowledge of word processing software
• One year’s experience in a service-related field
• Ability to deal with a diversified workforce
• Ability to communicate effectively with the public and other employees
• Type 55 words per minute (corrected)
