About the role
Majestic Care of Middletown is seeking a Human Resources Manager to join our team and uphold our core values of Listening, Empathy, Accountability, and Decisiveness. The HR Manager will lead all routine HR functions within the assigned community, ensuring compliance with company policies, governmental regulations, and fostering a culture of fairness and consistency.
Responsibilities
- Partner with leadership to manage recruiting and onboarding processes.
- Present and explain benefit plans, enrollment, and changes to care team members.
- Follow up with newly hired care team members based on reports from the health insurance broker.
- Ensure all communication and benefits materials are provided to care team members experiencing status changes.
- Maintain compliance by completing I-9/E-Verify processes, tracking necessary forms, and managing care team member files.
- Track and monitor OSHA 300 Logs and recordable events; assist in investigating work-related incidents.
- Respond to unemployment claims and matters in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Serve as a liaison between care team members and the Regional HR Director for leave requests, benefits, PTO, and documentation.
- Coordinate with the Payroll Specialist to ensure HRIS contains accurate care team member information.
- Provide guidance on complex, sensitive issues such as reasonable accommodations, investigations, and terminations.
Qualifications
- One to three years of experience in a human resources role; long-term care experience preferred but not required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
