Human Resources Manager
About the role
As our HR Manager – Americas, you’ll lead the delivery of broad HR and HSE initiatives across GALE Pacific’s US operations (Charlotte, NC and Fontana, CA). Functioning as the key people partner in the region, you’ll take ownership of translating global People & Capability priorities into practical outcomes, ensuring the fundamentals are strong, risks are managed, and the business is set up to perform. You’ll be comfortable navigating complex employment frameworks across states, lifting leadership capability, and embedding a strong safety culture in both our office and distribution centre. This is a hands-on, high-impact, true generalist role in a region that continues to evolve and grow.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end HR processes across the employee lifecycle (onboarding, performance, investigations, and offboarding)
- Ensure compliance with US employment law across NC and CA, including ER/IR matters and workplace obligations
- Oversee HSE requirements including OSHA and Cal/OSHA compliance and safety programs
- Partner with leaders to drive performance, capability, and organisational effectiveness
- Contribute, lead, and implement global People & Capability initiatives within the US
- Lead end-to-end recruitment activity to find A-player talent to optimise team structure
- Deliver performance and development processes including talent reviews and succession planning
- Use people and engagement data to identify risks and drive improvement initiatives
- Manage employee relations matters including investigations, performance issues, and workplace disputes
- Maintain HRIS data integrity and drive platform adoption across the region
Requirements
- Tertiary Qualifications in Human Resource Management
- Additional accreditations or qualifications in HR specialist functions (advantageous)
- Strong generalist HR experience in a standalone or regional role
- Solid understanding of US employment law (NC & CA exposure highly regarded)
- Exposure to HSE or safety-driven environments
- Prior experience across ER/IR, including managing complex workplace matters end-to-end
- Experience in competency-based recruitment and talent development approaches
- Capability in designing and delivering learning and development initiatives
- Commercial mindset with the ability to link people initiatives to business outcomes
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage, influence, and build credibility at all levels
- High attention to detail with a solutions-focused approach
