About the role

The Human Resources Manager at First Solar is responsible for managing human resources functions and activities in alignment with the company's Code of Conduct, Behaviors & Core Values. They oversee and direct the work of reporting HR staff and encourage their professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes and implements clearly defined processes, policies, and practices in collaboration with HR leadership.
  • Serves as a strategic business partner for assigned business areas and sites, addressing HR-related issues and concerns.
  • Manages HR projects with national scope and supports regional HR requirements, coordinating with Corporate HR leadership.
  • Partners with global business partners to ensure adherence to company HR budget and proper allocation of headcount costs.
  • Responds to employee relations issues, investigates complaints, and provides guidance on HR matters.
  • Supports HR business partnerships in performance appraisals, salary administration, succession planning, organizational design, and transactional processes.
  • Prepares and delivers internal HR communications on topics such as employee relations, compensation, benefits, policies, and processes.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all associates, company, and customer information.
  • Maintains awareness of industry trends, employment legislation, and ensures compliance for the region of operation.
  • Maintains office physical requirements, including standing and sitting for extended periods.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years total experience in Human Resources required.
  • 3 years’ experience managing HR professionals or 1 year of experience as a Lead - Human Resources at First Solar required.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline required.
  • Master’s degree in relevant discipline preferred.
  • PREFERRED: PHR or SPHR certification.

  • Well-versed in key US Federal and State employment laws.
  • Skilled in auditing and consulting the business on best practices, processes, and reporting risks and/or changes to ensure compliance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and consistently accurate.
  • Ability to interact with leaders and employees at all levels.
  • Self-motivated, capable of working independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work with various organizations and associates throughout the company.
