About the role
The Human Resources Manager at First Solar is responsible for managing human resources functions and activities in alignment with the company's Code of Conduct, Behaviors & Core Values. They oversee and direct the work of reporting HR staff and encourage their professional development.
Responsibilities
- Establishes and implements clearly defined processes, policies, and practices in collaboration with HR leadership.
- Serves as a strategic business partner for assigned business areas and sites, addressing HR-related issues and concerns.
- Manages HR projects with national scope and supports regional HR requirements, coordinating with Corporate HR leadership.
- Partners with global business partners to ensure adherence to company HR budget and proper allocation of headcount costs.
- Responds to employee relations issues, investigates complaints, and provides guidance on HR matters.
- Supports HR business partnerships in performance appraisals, salary administration, succession planning, organizational design, and transactional processes.
- Prepares and delivers internal HR communications on topics such as employee relations, compensation, benefits, policies, and processes.
- Maintains confidentiality of all associates, company, and customer information.
- Maintains awareness of industry trends, employment legislation, and ensures compliance for the region of operation.
- Maintains office physical requirements, including standing and sitting for extended periods.
Requirements
- Minimum 7 years total experience in Human Resources required.
- 3 years’ experience managing HR professionals or 1 year of experience as a Lead - Human Resources at First Solar required.
- Strong project management skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline required.
- Master’s degree in relevant discipline preferred.
- PREFERRED: PHR or SPHR certification.
