About the role

We are looking for a proactive, hands-on HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys owning the full HR lifecycle. This individual is detail-oriented, highly organized, and confident managing multiple priorities, including full-cycle recruitment, payroll, and employee relations. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who builds trust quickly, takes initiative, and is comfortable rolling up their sleeves to get things done while partnering effectively with stakeholders across the business.

THE ROLE

The HR Manager will play a hands-on role in executing core HR functions including full cycle recruiting, payroll administration, employee relations, HR operations, and HR system management. Reporting to the Head of HR, this role will partner with leadership and employees across the organization to support the full employee lifecycle while ensuring HR processes, policies, and compliance requirements are carried out effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • HR OPERATIONS AND ADMINISTRATION
    • Lead and oversee day-to-day HR operations, ensuring efficient and compliant HR processes.
    • Maintain and continuously improve HR policies, procedures, and documentation for employees based across 25+ states.
    • Own and manage HR systems (HRIS), including data integrity, reporting, and system enhancements.
    • Produce and analyze HR metrics (headcount, turnover, hiring data) to support decision-making.
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws to support audits as needed.
    • Manage end-to-end onboarding and offboarding processes.
    • Partner cross-functionally (finance, IT) on employee lifecycle processes.
    • Support employee communications as needed.
  • FULL CYCLE RECRUITMENT
    • Own and manage the full recruitment lifecycle from requisition through to offer and onboarding.
    • Partner directly with hiring managers to define role requirements, job descriptions, and hiring strategies.
    • Sources candidates through multiple channels (job boards, LinkedIn, referrals, direct sourcing).
    • Screens candidates, conducts initial interviews, and manages candidate pipelines.
    • Ensures an excellent candidate experience through timely and professional communication.
    • Manager and maintain ATS, ensuring accurate and up-to-date data.
    • Tracks and reports on recruitment metrics including time-to-fill, cost-per-hire, and pipeline health.
    • Prepares and delivers offers, including compensation coordination with leadership and finance.
  • PAYROLL ADMINISTRATION
    • Prepares and submits semi-monthly payroll information to ensure timely and accurate processing on ADP TotalSource.
    • Coincides payroll changes including new hires, terminations, salary adjustments, bonuses, and deductions.
    • Partners with finance to ensure payroll accuracy, reconciliation, and compliance.
    • Partners with business leaders to ensure bonuses and commissions are processed accurately and timely.
    • Supports benefits administration, including enrollments and employee changes.
  • EMPLOYEE RELATIONS
    • Acts as primary point of contact for employee relations matters, providing clear and practical HR guidance.
    • Manages employee relations cases, including investigations, documentation, and resolution.
    • Supports with progress reviews, performance discussions, and employee lifecycle meetings.
    • Conducts exit interviews and analyzes feedback to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
    • Maintains accurate, confidential records of all employee relations activities.
  • TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT
    • Maintains accurate training records across the business.
    • Supports internal training initiatives and HR system training where needed.
    • Coordinates learning and development activities or external training partnerships.

Qualifications

  • 4-6+ years of HR experience, ideally in an HR Manager or Senior HR Generalist role.
  • Proven hands-on experience with full cycle recruitment, payroll administration, and employee relations.
  • Strong knowledge of HRIS systems and ATS platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • HR Certification is a plus.
