About the role

Boston Consulting Group is seeking an HR Manager to join our Los Angeles office as part of a dynamic West Coast human resources team. This role is designed for those who thrive in a dynamic, collaborative environment and is not intended for remote or virtual work.

Responsibilities

  • HR Operations – Collaborate with the West Coast HR team to pride day-to-day operational support for local staff. Oversee LOAs of all types and own the employee exit process. Support team members with on-boarding, benefits, transfers, and other inquiries as needed.
  • Office Leadership – Develop trusting relationships with and act as a coach and mentor to BST managers. Partner with BST managers on staff planning activities, performance feedback preparation, performance improvement plans, and employee exits as needed. Deliver presentations in staff forums on HR related topics.
  • Employee Relations – Partner with Office Leadership, Business Services Managers, and employees to address a variety of workplace and employee relations issues and topics. Interpret, implement, and answer inquiries related to HR policies and procedures. When necessary, work with internal legal team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
  • Specialty in Business or HR preferred.
  • Strong understanding of California HR legal environment.
  • Five+ years of human resources management experience in a progressive HR department.
  • Experience in a high touch environment with professional staff.
  • Candidates must be able to perform successfully in a fast-paced, global, intellectually intense, service-oriented environment, keeping with BCG’s values and culture.
  • Strong communication skills; able to communicate confidently, articulately and with precision.
  • Able to influence multiple stakeholders to adopt a new point of view.

  • Able to proactively plan ahead and manage activities to ensure steady office support and engagement on a variety of topics.
  • Capacity to prioritize across multiple issues and to respond quickly with an appropriate sense of urgency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.

  • Experience in a high touch environment with professional staff.
  • Professional services experience is a plus.

Benefits

  • Total compensation includes base salary, annual discretionary performance bonus, retirement contribution, and a market leading benefits package.
  • The base salary range for this role is $112,000-$138,667.
  • Compensation also includes a discretionary bonus of up to 16% and a generous retirement contribution that starts at 5% and moves to 10% after 2 years.

  • We also offer paid time off including 12 holidays per year, an annual office closure between Christmas and New Years, and 15 vacation days per year (earned at 1.25 days per month).
  • Paid sick time on an as needed basis.

Pay

  • The base salary range for this role is $112,000-$138,667.

Schedule

  • Hybrid model, with the expectation that team members will be in the office 3 to 5 days per week.
