Responsibilities
- Report to the Regional Human Resources Manager and plant manager, serving as the HR liaison between management and employees at assigned facilities.
- Provide consultation and partnership to plant leadership to promote positive employee relations, drive cultural values, and support business goals through data-driven accountability and continuous improvement.
- Participate in centralized HR projects with company-wide impact and lead project execution at assigned facilities.
- Manage the HR Generalist, who handles hourly recruiting, team member training, and payroll functions (weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly), including reports and data analysis.
- Develop strategies to improve employee satisfaction, positive employee relations, and working conditions.
- Evaluate and administer human resources policies, programs, and union contracts (where applicable).
- Provide counseling and dispute resolution for employee issues through consultation, investigation, and policy review, recommending resolutions to leadership.
- Develop and align location recruitment strategies with company-wide efforts to attract and retain qualified candidates.
- Ensure consistent and equitable application of company policies.
- Collaborate with Centers of Excellence to design and implement employee development programs, ensuring alignment with current and future operational goals.
- Audit employee records for accuracy and authorize necessary changes.
- Report food safety and human safety concerns to appropriate personnel (e.g., shift leads, supervisors, QA technicians, Safety Manager, FSQ Manager).
- Facilitate training for exempt staff on proper employee communication and documentation skills.
- Follow up with exempt leaders to ensure compliance with annual and three-year plant safety plan criteria.
- Demonstrate leadership within the organization and participate in at least three community or government events annually to support local initiatives in Sulphur Springs.
- Play an integral role in the PSRMP (Plant Safety & Risk Management Program), owning elements 2 (Training) and 14 (Claims Management/Workers Compensation), and contributing to element 1 (Leadership & Administration).
- Conduct weekly safety scans, LOTO (Lockout-Tagout) audits, and COVID plant audits.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Three to five years of experience as a Human Resources Manager.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal employment laws and regulations.
- Ability to multitask, work with diverse employee backgrounds, and solve problems effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with HR systems and payroll, including timekeeping systems.
