Job Summary

The Human Resources Lead serves as the primary day-to-day operational leader of the Human Resources department, ensuring that HR processes are completed accurately, efficiently, and consistently. Working closely with the HR & Operations Manager, this role provides guidance to the HR Associate, oversees daily priorities, supports managers across the organization, and helps drive continuous improvement within HR operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily HR priorities and workload.
  • Ensure onboarding and offboarding processes are completed accurately and on time.
  • Monitor HR ticket queues and employee support requests.
  • Review documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain confidential employee records.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and employment requirements.
  • Provide daily guidance to the Human Resources Associate.
  • Aid in training new HR team members.
  • Review completed work before escalation when appropriate.
  • Identify opportunities to improve department efficiency.
  • Help develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and training documentation.
  • Serve as the first escalation point for employee questions.
  • Support managers with coaching documentation and corrective actions.
  • Absorb and assist with employee relations conversations.
  • Coordinate payroll corrections and timecard investigations.
  • Support benefits administration and employee communications.
  • Carefully coordinate interview scheduling.
  • Assist with hiring decisions.
  • Oversee onboarding readiness.
  • Ensure new hire documentation is complete.
  • Maintain hiring pipelines and candidate communication.
  • Support HR systems including ADP Workforce Now, Monday.com, WorkMarket, Slack, Google Workspace, and DocuSign.
  • Perform HR audits.
  • Monitor compliance deadlines.
  • Track department metrics and reporting.
  • Recommend process improvements.
  • Develop new workflows and documentation.
  • Participate in department projects.
  • Support the implementation of new HR initiatives.

Success

After 90 days, the Human Resources Lead should be able to:

  • Independently manage daily HR operations.
  • Prioritize department workload.
  • Coach and support the HR Associate.
  • Resolve most employee HR inquiries independently.
  • Identify process improvements.
  • Ensure HR documentation remains organized and compliant.
  • Serve as a trusted resource for managers.
