About the Role

Avient is seeking a motivated individual with a passion for helping people and driving process improvements to join our summer internship program. This opportunity will provide exposure to our HR Centers of Expertise and business partners, offering meaningful work and interaction with senior leaders across the organization. Areas of potential projects and learning opportunities include talent acquisition, talent development, compensation and benefits, and HRIS in a professional, global environment.

The selected incumbent will be part of the wider Avient internship program, which promotes professional development, networking, cross-functional collaboration, and community involvement.

Responsibilities

Act as a contributing member of the HR team, working directly with a Center of Expertise or on projects across multiple aspects of the HR function.
Gain exposure to domestic and international operations within HR and knowledge of Avient practices.
Contribute to projects and initiatives led by HR, with the ability to lead portions directly.
Present key learnings and results to the leadership team at the conclusion of the internship.
Handle other projects and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in human resources or a related field.
Prior internship experience is a plus but not required.

Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to interact with individuals across the organization.
Ability to work as part of a team with excellent collaboration skills across functions and with business partners.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong time management, organizational skills, and accountability for tasks and issues.
Strong trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills.
Quick thinking, initiative-taking, and a thirst for learning while being unafraid to step out of your comfort zone.
Desire to learn and develop within the field of human resources.
