Description
As a Human Resources Information Systems Specialist for the U.S. Space Force, you will serve as a technical expert and data innovator at the heart of the Civilian Talent Management Office, shaping how the service builds its elite workforce. In this dynamic role, you will lead challenging projects to design, analyze, and automate critical human capital processes by harnessing the power of advanced data systems like PowerBI, Business Objects, and PowerApps. By transforming raw HR data into actionable intelligence, you will create sophisticated reports, deliver high-impact briefings to senior Space Force leaders, and develop innovative solutions to complex organizational challenges, ensuring that the USSF can recruit, hire, and retain the nation's top talent.
Key Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of a wide range of federal Human Resources (HR) laws, executive orders, regulations, policies, directives, instructions, and concepts governing HR functions.
- Knowledge of advanced federal human resources management (HRM) principles, concepts, practices, fact finding and analytical methods, a wide range of qualitative and quantitative techniques, and relationships of various HR disciplines as well as seasoned consultative skill sufficient to resolve complex HRM problems not susceptible to treatment by standard methods.
- Knowledge of databases, higher-order programming tools and retrieval languages associated with the HR information system(s) and system capabilities, procedures, limitations and retrieval options.
- Knowledge of organizational structures, missions, objectives, operating programs, key positions, and administrative/protocol policies and procedures.
- Skill in conducting reviews and analyzing and assessing HR data analytics to include identifying deficiencies; measuring compliance, consistency, and effectiveness; and making recommendations for enhancements and improvements.
- Ability to communicate both orally and in writing and to establish and maintain effective and positive working relationships.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S Citizen.
- Employee must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.
- May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of TDY assignments.
- Eligible for situational telework only, including Emergency and OPM prescribed “Unscheduled Telework”.
- Subject to Temporary Duty Assignment (TDY): Approximately 5 days per year.
