Part-Time Human Resources (HR) Assistant supporting day-to-day HR operations for a long-term contract based in Cleveland, Ohio. This role is ideal for someone with prior HR exposure or strong administrative experience who can quickly contribute during a high-volume period. The position combines employee support, record coordination, and recruitment-related administration in a collaborative environment, with in-office attendance expected three days per week.
Responsibilities
- Support daily HR administrative activities by maintaining accurate employee records, updating documentation, and assisting with routine coordination tasks.
- Help facilitate onboarding activities by preparing new employee materials, tracking completion steps, and ensuring a smooth start for incoming employees.
- Conduct phone screens and assist with early-stage candidate communication to help move recruitment processes forward efficiently.
- Process pre-employment documentation and monitor status updates to keep onboarding steps on schedule.
- Enter and manage data within HR systems with a strong focus on accuracy, organization, and confidentiality.
- Respond to employee and manager inquiries by providing timely administrative support and escalating issues when appropriate.
- Assist with employee relations documentation and general follow-up tasks connected to HR case support.
- Coordinate scheduling for interviews and other HR-related meetings while helping maintain steady workflow during a busy season.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in human resources support or a high-level administrative role with transferable HR-related responsibilities.
- Practical experience with HR administration, including recordkeeping, onboarding coordination, and employee support activities.
- Familiarity with HRIS platforms and the ability to learn internal systems quickly.
- Experience handling background checks, candidate communication, or phone screening activities.
- Strong data entry skills with close attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Effective organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting.
