About the role

We are looking for a detail-oriented Human Resources (HR) Assistant to support a busy HR team in Connecticut. This Long-term Contract position combines hands-on administrative support with employee relations coordination and HR systems work, making it a strong fit for someone who can balance accuracy, discretion, and responsiveness. The person in this role will contribute to day-to-day HR operations while partnering with leadership to help maintain compliant, consistent, and employee-focused practices.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate employee records by entering, updating, and auditing HR data across internal systems and documentation.
  • Support HR leadership with departmental priorities, including administrative coordination, reporting, and follow-up on key initiatives.
  • Assist with HRIS activities and technical system-related tasks to help keep employee information organized and accessible.
  • Coordinate onboarding activities such as candidate screening processing, new employee documentation, and pre-employment communication.
  • Help address employee relations matters by gathering information, documenting concerns, and supporting objective review processes.
  • Partner with HR leadership to reinforce compliance with employment policies, procedures, and applicable legal requirements.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance on HR policies and standard practices to employees and people leaders.
  • Contribute to a positive workplace environment by helping strengthen communication, employee support, and retention efforts.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in human resources administration or HR support is required.
  • Working knowledge of HRIS platforms and confidence handling high-volume data entry with accuracy.
  • Experience supporting onboarding processes, including background checks and new employee paperwork.
  • Familiarity with employee relations practices and the ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion.
  • Understanding of HR policies, compliance expectations, and standard personnel procedures.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for interacting with employees, leaders, and HR stakeholders.
