Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the HR Manager NAM & LAM with day-to-day HR operations across the U.S. and Latin America.
  • Cook up regional HR processes including recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, employee changes, benefits coordination, reporting, compliance, and employee communications.
  • This is a fully onsite position based in Houston, TX, supporting a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Creates job requisitions and job descriptions.
  • Performs recruiting and staffing functions including screening candidates and working with outside agencies where appropriate.
  • Safeguards the hiring process in a timely manner.
  • Answers questions related to benefits and Company policy.
  • Maintains employee records utilizing ADP Workforce Now.
  • Pre-screens qualified job applicants and refers them to managers, making hiring recommendations when appropriate; schedules and conducts interviews.
  • Conducts reference checks and runs background checks.
  • Prepares and communicates offers of employment.
  • Conducts new employee orientations and handles on-boarding of new employees.
  • Conducts exit interviews.
  • Responds to unemployment claims.
  • Plans and coordinates employee meetings and events.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Supports regional benefits administration, vendor coordination, and employee communications.
  • Aids in audits, training records, compliance documentation, and HR reporting.
  • Supports employee relations matters and manager follow-up.
  • Maintains organizational charts, headcount reports, turnover tracking, and HR metrics.
  • Cooks up employee onboarding and offboarding processes across multiple countries.
  • Provides bilingual HR support and communications in English and Spanish.
  • Supports special HR projects and operational initiatives as assigned.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Full-bilingual in English and Spanish required.
  • A high level of communication skills is required in order to interact with all levels of management and staff.
  • Strategic thinking and innovation are required to develop systems and processes and other HRIS tools that support the business.
  • Strong attention to detail, multitasking, and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Team player with strong ability to build and maintain relationships.
  • Portuguese is a plus.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong sense of urgency, follow-up, and organization.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities across different countries and time zones.
  • Hands-on operational mindset with strong customer service orientation.
  • Advanced Excel and HR systems knowledge preferred.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum 5+ years of HR experience in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree preferably in Human Resources or related field.
  • People oriented and results driven.
  • Demonstrable experience with Human Resources metrics.
  • Knowledge of HR systems and databases.
  • Excellent active listening, negotiation and presentation skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of labor law and HR best practices.
  • Experience supporting multi-country or regional HR operations preferred.
  • Experience with benefits, recruiting, onboarding, and employee relations required.
  • Experience supporting operational, laboratory, or field environments preferred.
  • Experience with HRIS platforms preferred.
