The Role
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with senior HR Management in order to contribute to the success of the team.
Responsibilities
- Identify and resolve HR policy, compliance, and process issues; recommend and implement improvements.
- Maintain and update HR policies and procedures; ensure alignment with California employment law.
- Utilize WOW methodology to support consistent HR processes.
- Process payroll-related changes, including hires, promotions, wage updates, and terminations.
- Review and validate timecards, schedules, and wage changes; ensure wage and hour compliance.
- Address payroll and timekeeping inquiries.
- Prepare severance agreements and analyze weekly temporary employee status.
- Provide guidance to managers on employee relations, performance issues, and corrective actions.
- Promote a positive work environment and support conflict resolution.
- Conduct or support investigations with proper documentation and reporting.
- Manage full-cycle recruiting, including sourcing, screening, and interviewing candidates.
- Facilitate onboarding, New Hire Orientation, Hourly Wage and Hour training, and UKG data accuracy.
- Serve as Philanthropic Lead for Wonderful Giving, Wonderful Together, and Good Neighbor programs.
- Assist with company events and participate in committees and special projects.
Qualifications
- Develop relationships and partnerships (internal and external) with teammates and client groups.
- Comfortable working independently and in ambiguity.
- Knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Adopts a 'play to win' mentality and acts boldly and nimbly in a fast-moving environment.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
- Tech savvy with an understanding of various HR platforms and how they can enhance the business and experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in talent acquisition strategies, including sourcing techniques, applicant tracking systems (ATS) management, and full-cycle recruitment.
- Individually secure with a calm and gracious approach.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills. (Bi literate)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Education & Experience
- At least two years of progressively responsible human resources experience in a generalist capacity within a production/manufacturing setting.
- B.A degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Supplementary training and/or designations (PHR, SPHR) related to the human resource field, or equivalent education and experience, are desirable.
- Fluent in Spanish
Benefits
Compensation: $72,000 - $74,000 Salary - which may include a discretionary bonus. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.
