Human Resources Generalist II
About the Role
The Human Resources Generalist II plays a critical role in enhancing the overall employee experience and ensuring a smooth journey from candidate to valued team member. This position serves as the primary driver for key cultural initiatives, including event management, new hire onboarding, and the creation of compelling internal presentations and infographics. The Generalist actively supports the HR Business Partners (HRBPs) and the broader employee base by focusing on program delivery, data-driven insights, and fostering a positive, engaging, and compliant work environment.
Responsibilities
- Employee Services
- Own and manage the Employee Services inbox, responding to employee inquiries in a timely, accurate, and professional manner.
- Serve as a subject matter resource by applying knowledge of employment law, payroll processes, benefits, and HR policies to resolve a broad range of employee questions and issues.
- Research, track, and follow through on employee inquiries to ensure timely resolution, escalating complex matters as appropriate and maintaining clear documentation.
- Partner closely with HR Business Partners (HRBPs) by proactively communicating employee relations trends, complex issues, and case updates.
- Exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive and confidential employee matters, ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable employment laws.
- Employee Experience & Events
- Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of company-wide employee events and recognition programs (e.g., town halls, volunteer days, holiday parties, training events) from concept to post-event analysis.
- Develop and implement programs and initiatives designed to enhance and measure employee engagement and experience.
- Serve as a front-line resource, providing empathetic and clear responses to employee inquiries.
- Onboarding & Training Content
- Own the new hire onboarding experience, continually refining and delivering a world-class program that effectively integrates new employees into the company culture.
- Design, develop, and deliver high-quality visual content, training materials, and presentations using tools like Canva and Advanced PowerPoint.
- Communicate and educate employees on HR policies, procedures, and programs through engaging and accessible content.
- HRBP Support & Data Analytics
- Provide direct support and assistance to HR Business Partners (HRBPs) on various initiatives, projects, and administrative tasks.
- Utilize Excel skills for data manipulation and perform data visualization & reporting to generate actionable insights (e.g., turnover, engagement scores, time-to-hire).
- Navigate and maintain employee records and data within the Human Capital Management (HCM) system, specifically ADP, ensuring data integrity and timely reporting.
- Compliance and Process Improvement
- Develop and maintain written HR instructions, contributing to training and cross-training efforts within the HR Employee Services team.
- Assist in designing and implementing HR programs and initiatives in compliance with all federal and state employment laws and regulations.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes.

Requirements
- Education / Certification / Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
- 2-4 years of progressive experience working as an HR Representative, HR Specialist, or HR Generalist.
- Demonstrated experience in leading or significantly contributing to employee events, employee experience initiatives, and/or new hire onboarding programs.
- Experience supporting HR Business Partners (HRBPs) or leadership teams is strongly preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data modeling) and experience performing data visualization & reporting.
- Working knowledge and direct experience with a Human Capital Management (HCM) system, specifically ADP.
- Expert proficiency with Canva and Advanced PowerPoint (or equivalent software) to develop high-quality, professional, and engaging training materials, infographics, and presentations.
- Experience administering HR policies and programs.
- Experience working in healthcare or other regulated industry is a plus.
- Experience supporting a large and diverse employee population that includes local and remote employees is a plus.

- Strong communication skills: clear and professional listening, speaking, and writing; ability to articulate and present information to employee groups.
- Strong computer skills in usage of MS Office Suite and HR applications and systems.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion, good judgment, courtesy, and tact.
- Ability to work independently and as an effective team member, adapting to changing requirements, deadlines, and priorities.
- Ability to build positive relationships, work productively with internal customers, and effectively push back as needed.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and conceptualize complex issues and resolve them efficiently.
- Additional Skills
- Proven ability to manage logistics, budgets, and communication for internal events and meetings.
- Solid understanding of federal and state employment laws and regulations (e.g., FMLA, ADA, EEO).
Pay
The anticipated range for this position is $80,000 to $90,000. Actual placement within the range is dependent on multiple factors, including but not limited to skills, education, experience, and location.
Schedule
The regular hours for this full-time position are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday-Friday. Holiday, weekend, and evening work hours may be required. Regular hours may vary due to the needs of the organization or department.
Working Conditions
- Physical: Generally may require some reaching, bending, stooping, squatting, crawling, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying up to 20 pounds, finger dexterity, repetitive motions, standing, walking, sitting, hearing, visual acuity, color vision, and 2-way written/verbal communication in English.
- Travel: Between Irvine sites.
- Access to Customer Sites: Not required.
