Responsibilities

  • Strong foundation in core HR practices, including employee relations, policy interpretation, performance management support, recruiting coordination, onboarding, and HR operations
  • Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws and the ability to apply them thoughtfully in day-to-day situations; Minnesota employment law knowledge preferred
  • Sound judgment, discretion, and professionalism when handling sensitive and confidential information
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to build credibility and work effectively with employees and leaders at all levels
  • Effective conflict resolution, coaching, and problem-solving skills, with a balanced and practical approach
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to analyze information, document issues clearly, and make practical, risk-aware recommendations
  • Service-oriented mindset with a collaborative approach and commitment to creating a positive employee experience
  • Ability to work independently while partnering effectively with site leadership, employees, and HR team members
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience using HRIS systems; reporting and audit experience is a plus
  • Continuous improvement mindset and the ability to identify opportunities to strengthen processes and employee support
  • Ability to support a manufacturing or operations environment, including occasional schedule flexibility for off-shift or weekend needs
  • Ability to travel to other Benchmark locations, as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience, as approved by executive management
  • Typically requires 3+ years of progressive Human Resources experience for a Level II role
  • Mining or multi-shift operations environment experience is preferred
  • Professional certification such as SHRM-CP or PHR is a plus
