About the role
The HR Generalist – Employee Relations position is based in Ocoee, FL and supports human resources functions across multiple resort properties. This role is full-time and on-site.
Responsibilities
- Partner with managers to resolve complex employee relations issues, including investigations, disciplinary actions, grievances, and conflict resolution
- Conduct and lead HR investigations from intake through resolution, ensuring proper documentation and compliance
- Respond to regulatory inquiries from agencies such as the EEOC and Department of Labor
- Interpret and apply employment laws including FMLA, FLSA, ADA, and EEO, advising leadership on compliance and risk mitigation
- Collaborate with payroll, benefits, and HR teams to support employee lifecycle processes and operational workflows
- Support administration and resolution of workers’ compensation claims
- Maintain accurate HR documentation and ensure compliance with recordkeeping standards
- Represent the company in unemployment claims and hearings
- Plan and support employee engagement initiatives, including wellness events and company programs
- Contribute to HR initiatives such as I-9 audits, policy updates, and compliance reviews
- Design and deliver training programs for employees and leadership on HR policies and performance management
- Provide coaching on performance management, employee engagement, and career development
- Maintain personnel records; scanning, indexing and reviewing files
- Aid with day-to-day HR operations and administrative support
Qualifications
- 2–5 years of experience in a Human Resources Generalist or HR Business Partner role
- Experience in hospitality, hotel, or timeshare industry preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR compliance (FMLA, FLSA, ADA, EEO)
- Experience conducting employee relations investigations and conflict resolution
- Proficiency in HRIS systems (ADP preferred) and Microsoft Office
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage confidential information
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization
