About the role
The Human Resources team is searching for an ambitious individual to join our mission to discover, hire, and retain great talent. This person will be a conduit for positive employee relations, onboarding/offboarding, and focal point for employee support. You will be instrumental in achieving Smithfield’s goal to become the #1 consumer packaged goods company in the world!
Responsibilities
- Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
- Maintains the Human Resource Information System records and compiles reports from database.
- Collections and analyzes HR data and makes recommendations to the HR Business Partner.
- Supports the functional areas of human resources including, but not limited to, personnel records, employee relations, benefits administration, training, employee relations, safety, ADA administration, and special projects.
- Aids in the development and implementation of human resources policies and procedures through email communications, and/or meetings.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Human Resources, Business Management, or related field and 2+ years of related experience or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Working knowledge of employment law practices.
- Experience with Workday preferred.
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
- Experience in administration of benefits, compensation, and other programs.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point.
- Ability to work well with various levels of leadership across the organization.
- Ability to cross-train within the corporate HR team.
- Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Ability to be respectful, approachable, and team-oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
