Position Summary
The HR Generalist will be responsible for providing support to Operations for daily core HR needs including Employee Relations, Compliance, Non-Exempt Performance Management, Onboarding, etc.
Essential Functions
- Cascades the vision of Quest Food Management Services, ensuring the Quest vision, values and founding principles are effectively communicated, understood and practiced.
- Level One Employee Relations Support includes high level questions, policy interpretation, investigations, etc.
- Support managers on documenting and communicating performance feedback
- Conducting periodic audits of employee records, files, and workplace poster requirements to ensure federal and state compliance
- Support Recruiting and Onboarding of Non-Exempt Team Members
- Provide guidance to Unit Leaders on Quest Employee Handbook and applicable Employment Law
- Support Unit Leaders on documenting and communicating feedback on performance and behavior
- Support all Engagement Programs to include surveys, recognition, Stay and Exit Interviews
- Prepare files and reports for Leadership as needed
- Support Payroll Function in ensuring units are following all required / established pay practices
- Support Non-Exempt Annual Review Process
- Support Time and Attendance Process to ensure proper tracking and administration
- Aid in responding to Unemployment Claims
- Special Projects as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll management, human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications.
Job Requirements/Specifications
- Education and Experience: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Required Bachelor’s Degree
- At least one year of related experience
- Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills
- Strong Organizational Skills and Attention to Detail
- Strong Interpersonal and Problem-Solving Skills
- Proficient in MS Office Applications
- Preferred 2-5 years’ experience
- Thorough knowledge of IL Employment Laws and Regulations
- Prior experience in Contract Food Service Management Industry
- SHRM-CP or PHR Certification
- Proficient in ADP Workforce Now
