Position Summary

The HR Generalist will be responsible for providing support to Operations for daily core HR needs including Employee Relations, Compliance, Non-Exempt Performance Management, Onboarding, etc.

Essential Functions

  • Cascades the vision of Quest Food Management Services, ensuring the Quest vision, values and founding principles are effectively communicated, understood and practiced.
  • Level One Employee Relations Support includes high level questions, policy interpretation, investigations, etc.
  • Support managers on documenting and communicating performance feedback
  • Conducting periodic audits of employee records, files, and workplace poster requirements to ensure federal and state compliance
  • Support Recruiting and Onboarding of Non-Exempt Team Members
  • Provide guidance to Unit Leaders on Quest Employee Handbook and applicable Employment Law
  • Support Unit Leaders on documenting and communicating feedback on performance and behavior
  • Support all Engagement Programs to include surveys, recognition, Stay and Exit Interviews
  • Prepare files and reports for Leadership as needed
  • Support Payroll Function in ensuring units are following all required / established pay practices
  • Support Non-Exempt Annual Review Process
  • Support Time and Attendance Process to ensure proper tracking and administration
  • Aid in responding to Unemployment Claims
  • Special Projects as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll management, human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications.

Job Requirements/Specifications

  • Education and Experience: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Required Bachelor’s Degree
  • At least one year of related experience
  • Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills
  • Strong Organizational Skills and Attention to Detail
  • Strong Interpersonal and Problem-Solving Skills
  • Proficient in MS Office Applications
  • Preferred 2-5 years’ experience
  • Thorough knowledge of IL Employment Laws and Regulations
  • Prior experience in Contract Food Service Management Industry
  • SHRM-CP or PHR Certification
  • Proficient in ADP Workforce Now

  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20-25 pounds
  • Fine hand manipulation (keyboarding)
