Human Resources Generalist
About the role
Pet Food Experts is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, this position is responsible for coordinating HR services, policies, and programs, and supporting the company's business goals.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate implementation of HR services, policies, and programs
- Develop and recommend personnel policies and procedures
- Communicate and uphold HR policies and procedures
- Investigate and resolve employee grievances and transgressions
- Ensure compliance with employment laws
- Manage Workers' Compensation claims and ADA cases
- Evaluate department initiatives
- Support HR initiatives and projects
- Travel to Pet Food Experts distribution centers region-wide
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (HR degree, a plus)
- Minimum 3 years of HR experience with a strong focus on employee relations, especially in a warehouse or distribution center environment
- Experience working with HRIS systems preferred, Paylocity a plus
- Proven working experience as HR support in a distribution/manufacturing environment
- In-depth knowledge and interpretation of HR best practices
- Show confidence with independent decision making
- Understand, interpret, and apply company and departmental policies and procedures
- Work effectively with multiple levels of management and collaborate in a team environment
- Exhibit an outgoing, people-oriented, helpful, and positive attitude with a customer-centric approach to working with internal and external stakeholders
Qualifications
- SHRM Certification a plus
- Proven experience in a distribution/manufacturing environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively
- Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Strong organizational and administrative skills

- Strong HR administration skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of HRIS systems and Paylocity preferred
- Experience with Workers' Compensation and ADA cases

$85,000 - $95,000 annually
